Dr. Geneviéve Eskridg , PT, DPT, MS
Dr. Geneviéve Eskridge graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Dr. Eskridge trained to become a professional dancer in New York City, acquiring her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2004 from Fordham University/Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre. After struggling with a chronic injury, she became a certified personal trainer. She was promoted and attained further education to specialize in functional training and training for optimal posture. She was honored as Rockefeller Club’s Trainer of the Year in 2005. In 2006, she became the Sports Club’s Master Flexibility Trainer and conducted continuing education classes for fellow trainers and for corporate clients in New York City. In that time, she was able to get herself out of chronic pain as well as assist numerous clients in achieving their goals.
She decided to seek more education in the medical sciences to better understand the mechanism of pain. She received her Masters degree in Biomedical Science from OSU Center for Health Sciences in 2011 before attaining her physical therapy degree.
Since starting her career in physical therapy, Dr. Eskridge has attended over 175 hours of continuing education in outpatient physical therapy. She is very passionate about looking at the body and the person as a whole. She finds and treats the root causes of your problem areas. She will change your deficits into your strengths, progressing you to fully optimized function. Dr. Eskridge is very thorough in her assessments and will continuously assess your progress to ensure the best treatment plan is applied. She enjoys challenging cases such as chronic and recurrent pain as well as athletic optimization. Dr. Eskridge offers a range of services including nutrition, supplements, and guided stress reduction sessions to reduce stress and optimize brain function/age prevention. She continues to provide her high level personal training via functional training which is focused on teaching you how to activate your muscles properly to get better outcomes with strength, power, and sports specific training.
Dr. Eskridge also has experience in bicycling, pilates, barre, tennis, and yoga (hatha/iyengar/power/aerial), in addition to her dance training. She has facilitated many Crossfit competitors, runners, and triathletes to their best performance. She has two therapy dogs (Chihuahuas) that occasionally hang out to enhance your treatments!
